About us

Founded in London in 2003, Melopoetica is an ensemble dedicated to historically informed performance, approached with a contemporary and exploratory sensibility. Now based in Porto, the group brings together outstanding musicians to reimagine early music as a living, expressive art form.

Active on international stages across Europe and beyond, Melopoetica has performed at leading festivals and venues, and was awarded the title of English Concert Junior Fellow.

Today, the ensemble’s work extends beyond the concert format, creating cross-disciplinary projects where early music enters dialogue with word, gesture, and image — offering immersive experiences that speak directly to present-day audiences.
